Javier Castro was born in Belen de los Andaquies, Caqueta, which is situated in the Amazonian jungle of Colombia. The Amazon basin covers parts of Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil and Venezuela, this area is not only rich in flora and fauna, but also native tribes of people who work in harmony with their environment. Javier began his work almost ten years ago, and during this time has travelled extensively around Colombia and different parts of South America, living with many different native tribes and learning their traditional art forms. All of Javier’s jewellery and accessories are completely handmade and use natural materials from Colombia, such as, tagua, coconut, amber and different seeds.
